Permobil is pleased to introduce the TiLite Pilot, an all-new manual mobility solution for kids. Its’ innovative frame design and materials encourage exploration and allow children to learn new skills in a safe environment. The TiLite Pilot features revolutionary adjustment that grows the way a child grows, setting a new standard for what pediatric mobility should be.
“When our team set out to create the TiLite Pilot, we wanted to make something that kids could just get in and immediately feel like the world was theirs to explore.” says WB Mick, General Manager Business Unit Manual.
Key features of the Pilot are:
READY TO GROW
The TiLite Pilot has a unique forward growth adjustment that allows the chair to grow with the child. By allowing the seat depth to grow independently of the rest of the adjustments, you always maintain optimal rear wheel access throughout the growth of the chair. This gives kids the most effective propulsion possible without needing to adjust or relearn their push mechanics as the Pilot quickly and intuitively grows with them. Sized from 8” x 9” up to 14” x 15,” the Pilot offers up to 2” of growth in seat width and 3” of growth in seat depth.
ULTRA-LIGHT FOR FAST FLIGHT
The use of compression molded carbon fiber for the seat pan and side frame panels creates a solid foundation that is 50% lighter than equivalent components made of aluminum. A lighter yet stronger chair is important to everyone, especially for a small child whose weight is often similar to that of the manual wheelchair. The Pilot lets kids fly like never before!
The TiLite Pilot’s clean frame design features a seat pan and side panels that provide easy access to the adjustment bolts, making changes simple and intuitive. The footrest design allows you to set the exact height and angle to maximize comfort and function. All of these adjustments can be done without compromising access to the rear wheels.
“The TiLite Pilot is a game changer,” says Terry Mulkey, Director of Market Development- Manual Wheelchairs, Permobil Americas.“Other pediatric chairs are just smaller versions of adult chairs that are heavy with poor wheel access which makes it very difficult for kids to push and gain any independence. From the beginning, the TiLite Pilot was designed to grow, encourage exploration, provide greater independence and of course be fun!”
